1. Who we are
ShiftProof is provided by Downe Systems. This policy applies to the ShiftProof Android application, package name com.downesystems.shiftproof.
2. Information entered into ShiftProof
Users may enter workplace information such as company and supervisor names, employee names, departments or shifts, hire dates, event categories, notes, follow-up status, and related record history.
This information is stored locally by the app on the user's device. Downe Systems does not receive this workplace information through a Downe Systems server.
3. Backups, sharing, and device services
ShiftProof includes user-initiated backup, restore, report, and sharing features. When a user chooses one of these features, the selected information may be sent to a location, application, person, or storage provider chosen by the user. Those third parties handle the information under their own privacy terms.
Device or operating-system backup services may also copy app data when the user has enabled those services. Downe Systems does not control those platform-level backups.
4. Subscription and purchase information
ShiftProof subscriptions are offered through Google Play. Google processes purchases, payment details, and related account information. Downe Systems does not receive full payment-card details.
The app may receive subscription status information from Google Play, such as whether access is active, so it can enable paid features. Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms.
5. Information we collect through the app
Downe Systems does not use ShiftProof to collect workplace records on its own servers. The current version of ShiftProof does not include Downe Systems advertising, behavioural tracking, or a Downe Systems analytics account.
Google Play and the user's device may independently collect technical, diagnostic, security, transaction, or usage information as part of providing the operating system, app store, billing, and distribution services.
6. How information is used
Information stored by ShiftProof is used on the device to provide app functions, including:
- creating and displaying workplace records;
- searching, filtering, reporting, and follow-up tracking;
- creating user-requested backups and reports;
- restoring user-selected backup files; and
- checking subscription access through Google Play.
7. Sharing and sale of information
Downe Systems does not sell the workplace information entered into ShiftProof. Because Downe Systems does not operate a server that receives those records, it does not disclose those records to advertisers or data brokers.
Information is shared outside the app only when the user deliberately uses a backup, report, export, or sharing function, or when a device/platform service selected by the user handles it.
8. Data retention and deletion
Records remain on the device until the user edits or deletes them, restores different data, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the app. User-created backup or report files remain wherever the user saved or shared them and must be deleted from those locations separately.
Since Downe Systems does not maintain user accounts or a server copy of workplace records, there is no Downe Systems account-data deletion request required for those records.
9. Security
ShiftProof uses the security protections supplied by Android and the user's device for locally stored app data. No storage method is completely risk-free. Users should protect their devices with appropriate screen locks, operating-system updates, and careful handling of exported reports and backup files.
10. Children
ShiftProof is a workplace recordkeeping tool and is not directed to children. Downe Systems does not knowingly use the app to collect personal information from children through a Downe Systems server.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when ShiftProof's features or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
